Container Drayage
Imports and Exports are an important part of the United States Economy.
We can effectively service your needs for both Import and Export freight.
Import:
JGB has contracts with Drayage Carriers in every port in the United States. We can arrange for the containers to be picked up and deliver them to
their final destination. Import scenarios:
JGB can either send an empty Container to the shipper for
loading or receive freight at our warehouse and container can
be loaded. Export scenarios:
We can effectively service your needs for both Import and Export freight.
Import:
JGB has contracts with Drayage Carriers in every port in the United States. We can arrange for the containers to be picked up and deliver them to
their final destination. Import scenarios:
- Local Drayage
- Regional Drayage
- Cross-country drayage
- The container can be brought to a local JGB warehouse to be cross docked. Our warehouse can palletize, sort, and shrink-wrap floor loaded freight and load onto either an LTL carrier or Truckload
Carrier
JGB can either send an empty Container to the shipper for
loading or receive freight at our warehouse and container can
be loaded. Export scenarios:
- Can be a local p/u by our drayage carrier
- We can consolidate multiple LTL shipments at our warehouse
and load into a container for export
Rail
Intermodal transportation is the most cost effective way of transporting Domestic Freight. Rail does, however, have the slowest transit time. This is ideal for freight that has no arrival deadline. Rail scenarios:
- JGB can send in a carrier with a 53' rail container into the pick-up warehouse
- The freight is loaded onto the empty container and is brought to the nearest rail terminal
- The freight departs on the next train and arrives at the destination terminal
- The Container is then unloaded from the train and a delivery appointment is scheduled with the consignee
- Our carriers deliver the freight to the warehouse for unloading
